Wonderful Things

My family has been treating me so wonderfully the past couple of weeks. Let’s enumerate the wonderful things they’ve done for me:

My husband:

  • Has gone to the post office to retrieve numerous packages for me
  • Has found the money to allow me to shop my brains out, since it’s just about the only thing I have time and patience for. Plus Zebra outfits!
  • He brought home French Fries for me even though they were out of his way and it was late at night and he was tired
  • He got out of the warm shower to grab me a barf bucket
  • He watched an episode of South Park just because I asked
  • He has run so many errands for me, I can’t even count them!

My Daughter, 15

  • She has been filling my water bottles regularly
  • Listening to my exciting stories even when she’s bored
  • Checking up on me to make sure I have everything
  • Bringing me breakfast during the week

My Son, 13 in 6 days!

  • He has been keeping my water bottles full
  • He has been spending time with me, like the two hours last night where he snuggled and watched TV and chatted
  • Remembering not to hug me without asking, because I’m so sore
  • Bringing my coffee in the morning on weekends

My family has been awesome. Except for:

Husband:

  • Forgetting about me in the bathtub and nobody hearing me yelling about getting the shower head down, so I had to wash my hair under the tap. It was a bit uncomfortable, but not the end of the world. I did have fun teasing him about it, though! 😄

I prefer to get help in and out of the tub as I’ve been so shaky lately.  I don’t need that much assistance, just someone to ‘catch’ me, really, if I start to go over. Or call 9-1-1 if I pass out. I’m still so weak from whatever is going on with me.

I hope you enjoyed my glimpse into my family. Are you interested in my Sephora Haul? I can either show a photo here, or link my Beauty Blog post. Let me know.

Stay healthy Zebras! 😘

Nesting

giphy

I’m deep into Nesting mode today. My ex husband used to call me hamster girl, because I love organizing and reorganizing all the things. Whenever I’m “sitting still” you can usually soon hear the rustle of paper. Today I went through all of my makeup and reorganized it. It was already sort of organized, but I redid it. Tomorrow I will tackle skincare. Unfortunately, I tried a look after I did the organisation and when I took the photos, my eyes are wonky. My eye pulls in when I get tired, and it doesn’t take much these days. I’m seeing the eye doctor in a couple of weeks. It might even be next week. I’m going to have to show him these photos.

I had a great time watching South Park while doing this. I love this show. It’s so obnoxious.  It makes such good points. My son’s friends watch it, so if he wants to watch it, I’m glad we do it together so we can discuss what he sees. I don’t know if, at almost 13 he quite grasps sarcasm and irony, and I’m happy he will discuss things with me enough to let me talk with him and ask me questions. I love the one where Kanye is making sure Kim isn’t a hobbit, and the one where Stan and Kyle try to beat a million on Guitar Hero. The music is great! Kansas, The Ramones, and I find it okay! Yay!

I’m still having abdominal cramping, but it’s more muscular than digestive, although digestive problems are happening because I’ve been on a chocolate binge lately. It doesn’t take much to upset my system, but it does take a certain amount to satisfy me! Oh well. Gotta live.

A friend asked me an interesting question the other day. I mentioned the cramps, and she misunderstood them for digestive cramps, understandably, and asked if I was going off FODMAP. No, because it was different pain and we sorted that, but I thought, what is after FODMAP? What do I do after that? I can’t seem to tolerate anything forbidden, and many things allowed on that diet and am still mostly nauseated and having heartburn. I am better in terms of bloating and gas, most of the time I know why I am suffering.

I was going to post yesterday, but I decided to nap instead. So selfish. 😁

My head and neck hurts so much. I’m trying to be cheerful, but it’s tough. I feel like my laughter is a little loud and hysterical.

I can vape again, right? I’ve been teaching people in the house how to help with my apparatus (age appropriately, no kids touch drugs, but they can find my discard bin and get my tubing) so I actually will instead of just lying here.

Have a fab day, Zebras! 😙

All Whining. All the Time

I slept most of today. My eyes hurt. They are all gunky and goobery. I have never been sick where stuff has been coming out of my eyes before, jeez. That’s gross. So I have to take my trusty Micellar water and try to clean up the damage so I can open my eyes. I still can’t totally see clearly.

My daughter fell ill this afternoon. She had the afternoon off and is off until Tuesday. I hope she’s over this quickly, as it’s not fair being sick over a long weekend. My Mom says I used to be sick on weekends. As a single mom, that was very convenient!

My son was sick earlier this week. I hope we don’t pass this around like we did at Christmas.

My husband has been generally run down from the steroids for his eyes infection. He never complains, so I’m not sure.

We have never been sick as a family the way we have been this last quarter. It’s insane. The way we pass things back and forth. We have never ever been sick like this.

I have actually been recovering faster than usual, lately. Getting over the actual flu, but it takes at least a couple of weeks to get my strength back. More like six weeks, though. It’s so frustrating to get sick.

Not to mention, it’s Thursday, so our TV is acting up again.  It always decides to do this when my husband takes our son to autism therapy. Boo. I think it’s the cable line.

I’m also annoyed because I’m hungry, and I know nothing will sit well right now. One minute I’m all ‘food sounds goooood’ three minutes later ‘ugh, no Oooh!’

Okay, I’m going to go watch South Park, it’s just about the right amount of snark for my mood right now. Nausea is back, despite the Gravol.

Stay healthy, my zebra friends! 😘
